Springtime With Elaine Turner

Last month I attended a preview of the Elaine Turner Spring 2015 collection and I had the wonderful opportunity to speak with Elaine Turner herself.  After looking at the collection and the rich colors, I had a lot of questions for Elaine about the inspiration behind the new styles and colors that are now available in her stores and also what styles are on trend for Spring.   Elaine explained that the Spring line was inspired by the rustic, outdoorsy destinations of Marfa, TX, Sedona, AZ and Calistoga, CA, which is why the earthy colors of denim blue, mustard yellow, persimmon and spice feature prominently this season.

I asked Elaine what she thinks are the most popular trends in accessories for Spring and without hesitation she listed:
Bucket bags (#1)
Mini satchels
Chunky heels
Wedges
Soft point toe flats
Any footwear that highlights the ankle, like booties or shoes with ankle straps

Sure enough when I looked at the shoes Elaine was wearing they had thick ankle straps!

The Abby cork sandals also feature a think ankle strap,
on trend this Spring and perfect for summer, too.

When asked what her favorite styles are from her Spring Collection Elaine told me they include the resort satchel, Suri bag, Julia wedge, the Annabella clutch and any of her bags made with woven leather and raffia.

Among my favorites for Spring are the Bella clutches (I have one) in any material, but especially the raffia, and the colorful raffia tote bag, because it holds everything!
